Shared Services Streamlines Administrative Functions
Shared Services is HCA's strategy to improve performance and reduce costs by consolidating in several non-clinical, administrative, functions. Those functions include Patient Account Services (PAS), Supply Chain Services (SCS) and Payroll Services (PSC, Payroll Service Center). Both the revenue cycle (PAS) and supply chain (SCS) Shared Services initiatives are completed. Payroll consolidation (PSC) for the enterprise is slated for completion by the end of 2006. Streamlining in these areas will allow us to direct additional resources to patient care and enhance our hospitals' fundamental focus on clinical services. It's really about preserving our clinical core.
